Today our school joined the WSSA to break the record of the most peope sport stacking at multiple locations in one day.  All students participated today during their specials period.  Here are a few pictures of my students sport stacking.

Clocks

Check out this anchor chart. I love the way it turned out. We have been learning about time this week and have referred back to this anchor chart throughout the week.
On a side note, my husband went to Seattle last week and took this picture in the plane. Breath taking huh? God is such an artist!

Classroom Management Idea

I have been wanting to do this since school began!  Share how the first grade teachers do classroom management.  I just want to start by saying it was not my idea!  It was my coworkers idea. But I loved it and I stole it!  Here are some pictures.
This is the way we begin our day.

You move your stick here if you made a few bad choices.
Afterwards, you in the nest!  No bueno!
And last, but not least is the parent contact.
This is what the container looks like from the top.  We bought these at The Container Store.  My principal mentioned she liked them because it is a little more of a private form of classroom management.  I thought I saw somewhere online that Target sold containers like this one if you want to try looking there.  If you would like the paper I used around the contianer msg me, and I would be happy to share it!

All of the first grade teachers also use Whole Brain Teaching to help with classroom rules.  It really helps that we all use the same rules, and form of classroom mangement.

Veteran's Day

Well we were super busy learning about Veteran's Day!  Students learned about all of the sacrifices countless men and women make to keep us safe everyday.  They also learned about the different branches of military, and the many different things we do in our country to observe Veteran's Day.We also talked about the significance of the poppy flower.  I had a few students in my class who had lots of knowledge to share about family members who served in the military.
One of my students thinking about what to write.

I created this printable to write about Veteran's Day.  It's free on my tpt store, if you would like to use it for your class.
I always love to showcase our hard work on our hallway bulletin board.  I also created the letters for my title flag.  It's added in the same file as the printable above.

We made this poppy flower out of tissue paper and hot glued a black bead in the middle.

On a side note here is a picture of my lovely family.  They are so.stinking.cute!
